‘Wedding Crashers 2’ Cast

Owen Wilson said about the new film, “If we all agree that we have a good idea, then we’re trying to make something good. But it’s sort of figuring out what that idea would be and if we think we could do something worthwhile.”

Vaughan and Wilson had starred in the first film as two divorce mediators who crash weddings in an attempt to meet and charm women.

The film is bringing back the original cast of the film which includes:

Dobkin recently made Eurovision with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, so there’s definitely a possibility for more of the Wedding Crashers cast to return as well too.

‘Wedding Crashers 2’ Plot

‘Wedding Crasher 2’  is a follow-up to the 2005 comedy, Wedding Crashers’.  At the end of the original film, both Vaughn and Wilson’s characters find love in Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams’ characters, but keep going with the crashing, but just for the free alcohol, food and party this time.

May be the sequel will tell us the story ahead, such as would they be married to their ladies now? Would they have kids?

‘Wedding Crashers 2’ Release date

According to a June 2021 report, a script has been written for Wedding Crashers 2, but the film hasn’t technically been greenlit. The director, Dobkin, has indeed been scouting locations after releasing the 2020 Netflix movie  Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

The film is scheduled to begin production in August, it would likely put its release in the back half of 2022, if not early 2023.  Production Weekly revealed details of the scheduled production after talk of the sequel started to heat up among cast members in recent interviews.

Fisher told in November of 2020, “I would 100%, 100% be down. I think there is a ton of comedy to be mined in that set up. I think those two have such a great, natural chemistry. I loved playing a bipolar nymphomaniac. It would be really fun to go step back into that role that sort of made me lucky enough to be cast in fantastic movies  like [Godmothered].  Yeah, it’d be great fun!”

‘Wedding Crashers 2’ Trailer

Final words

On the speculations about  ‘Wedding Crashers 2’  happened, the director confirms in a June 2020 interview  that in the past, Wedding Crashers 2  never happened because Dobkin and company didn’t want to  recycle  comedy from  the first  film.

He said,

“Everybody keeps hitting me up about a Wedding Crashers sequel. We don’t have a script that we’re there with yet. For many, many years every year I got offered to do the sequel, there were some very big deals on the table. And none of us wanted to do a retread of the same movie again. Anything within those first years that we talked about was the same movie, and we were like, ‘Why?’ Financially I probably shouldn’t have done that, but I did (laughs). And Vince and Owen didn’t want to do it either.”

The original film was released in 2005,  it made nearly $300 million at the box office – a major return on the sizable $40 million budget, at a time that was regarded as a lot of money.

Reminiscing about “Wedding Crashers” as well as “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and “Zoolander”, Vaughan added, “They were fun movies to make. It’s always fun to make people laugh and go to work with people that are funny.”

So, these are the major information about the film. This all seems to point towards a release in 2022 or early 2023.
