The Grammy Awards Add Video Game Score Category
Sadly a little too late for the Wii Shopping Channel theme.
the "Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media" award lacks
a catchy name but aims to recognise excellence in music made specifically made for video games.
Viable candidates include "score soundtrack albums comprised predominately of original scores
and created specifically for, or as a companion to, a current video game
or other interactive media released within the qualification period.
A handful of other categories were also added to the Grammy Awards - Songwriter
of the Year, Non-Classical, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Americana
Performance, and Best Spoken Word Poet - which will come into effect starting in 2023.
