President Biden to visit Uvalde, Texas, as community grieves 21 killed in school shooting

President Joe Biden is slated to visit Uvalde, Texas

Sunday to speak with the families of the 21 victims who were killed Tuesday in an elementary school mass shooting.

This weekend marks what would have been the first to celebrate the summer for the community.

Instead, funeral plans are underway for the 19 children

two teachers who were slaughtered in their classrooms two days before summer break.

President Biden headed to Uvalde: Prior to his visit Sunday, President Joe Biden urged unity in trying to make America safer.

“We can finally do what we have to do to protect the lives of our people, and of our children,"

Biden said during his commencement address at his alma mater, the University of Delaware.

There is too much violence, too much fear, too much grief,” referring to the families of the victims in Uvalde.
