Kevin Spacey Granted Unconditional Bail by London Judge in U.K.

Kevin Spacey appeared at London’s Westminster Magistrates court on

Thursday morning, setting the wheels in motion for the first criminal

trial in the U.K. against the actor since allegations of assault first broke in 2017.

At the court, following a roughly 45-minute hearing, deputy chief

magistrate Tan Ikran concluded by sending the case to the U.K. Crown

Court, giving a July 14 set for a hearing at Southwark.

He also granted Spacey unconditional bail unless the court decided

there was a real risk. “I’ve not been persuaded there is a real risk,” the judge added.

With a media circus camped outside and journalists having already queued hours in advance for one of the limited spaces inside.
