Eagles lyrics notes were stolen years ago. Now three men face charges.

It was the late 1970s, and the world was basking in the golden age of rock-and-roll.

The Eagles were riding a wave of popularity that reached

its peak with the release of “Hotel California” in December 1976.

The album cemented the Eagles’ place in the American music scene and the band’s status as rock royalty.

But pages of handwritten lyrics and notes behind some of its chart-topping

songs mysteriously disappeared shortly thereafter — only to resurface nearly five

decades later as the frontispiece of a New York State Supreme Court indictment.
