‘Soul’ Movie Release date
This film was released to stream on Disney+ on December 25, 2020 in the United States.
It was originally scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on June 19, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed to November 20, 2020, but the United States release was canceled again in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said, “We are thrilled to share Pixar’s spectacular and moving Soul with audiences direct to Disney Plus in December,”.
‘Soul’ Movie headed directly to disney+
Disney Pixar’s animated film Soul is the latest Hollywood movie to skip a cinema release. It was due to come out in cinemas in November, but instead it was put straight onto the Disney+ streaming service.
Coronavirus, social distancing and lockdown rules mean lots of cinemas are struggling. A number of big movies, including the new James Bond film, have also been delayed.
It’s meant some cinema companies have had to temporarily shut or reduce their opening times. So, the movie was headed directly to Disney+.
