‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Filming location

Filming began in February 2020 on Marvel’s Shang-Chi but was then shut down in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Work building sets for the film resumed at the end of July 2020. The Marvel movie was filming at Fox Studios, Moore Park, Australia, Sydney, and on location in the larger Aussie state of New South Wales.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is finally scheduled to be released on September 3, 2021. It was previously scheduled to be released on February 12, 2021, the first day of the Chinese New Year.

Before it was shifted to May 7, 2021, and then to July 9, 2021 delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be part of Phase Four of the MCU.

Shang-Chi is the first Marvel movie with all-Asian cast

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has finished filming.

Star Simu Liu and director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed on their respective social media accounts that production has wrapped on the first Marvel Cinematic Universe chapter with an Asian origin superhero in the lead.

Liu said as much in a post, noting Marvel’s Shang-Chi will “make history as the first superhero movie to feature all an all-Asian cast”. And claimed that “it will be impossible for Hollywood to ignore us after this.”

Is Shang Chi based on Bruce Lee?

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Rings actor Simu Liu says that his titular character is loosely based on kung-fu legend and Enter the Dragon star, Bruce Lee.

Rapper, actor, and filmmaker O’Shea Jackson, otherwise known as Ice Cube, just recently shared a photo of Bruce Lee with a quote saying that “Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as reality.”

Posting the image on Twitter, Ice Cube decided to make a jab at Marvel heroes, saying that while “Marvel is cool,” he’d rather much have Bruce Lee, a “Real life super hero.”

In response to the rapper’s tweet, Liu revealed that Shang-Chi was actually loosely based on the kung-fu icon. What if I told you that there a character loosely based on him in the comic books?” the Marvel star wrote in response.
