‘Don’t Worry Darling’ is an upcoming American psychological crime drama horror mystery thriller film.

It is directed by Olivia Wilde. The screenplay was written by Katie Silberman with Carey and Shane Van Dyke.

The producers of this film are Roy Lee, Katie Silberman, Olivia Wilde and Miri Yoon and the executive producers are Catherine Hardwicke, Richard Brener, Daria Cercek, Celia Khong, Alex G. Scott, Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke.

New Line Cinema is behind the project and Warner Bros will release it.

Harry Styles replaced Shia LaBeouf, who had to depart the project due to a scheduling conflict.

KiKi Layne replaced Dakota Johnson who dropped out after scheduling conflicts with her movie The Lost Daughter (2021) which was shooting at the same time.

‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Plot

A 1950’s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community in the California desert begins to worry that his glamorous company may be hiding disturbing secrets.

She slowly begins to question her own sanity when she starts to notice strange occurrences in her small, utopian community. Her husband, Jack, loves her dearly, but is hiding a dark secret from her.

‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Release Date

Principal photography began in Los Angeles on October 20, 2020. It was temporarily halted for two weeks on November 4 after a member of the production tested positive for COVID-19.

Mission: Impossible 7- Everything We Know So Far

The studio, New Line, confirmed the news and said the diagnosis became an occupational hazard, so filming was shut down immediately.

The studio would  not disclose who came up positive, but it is not a member of the cast but someone who was in close enough proximity to them that the shutdown was deemed necessary to find out if anyone else on the production has been exposed. Filming wrapped on February 13, 2021. No one else has tested positive at this point.

Actor and comedian Asif Ali shared photos from the set of Don’t Worry Darling on February 16, revealing that shooting had wrapped.

Warner Bros. hasn’t yet set a firm release date for Don’t Worry Darling, but it’s tipped to be coming out in 2022.

Final words

In a recent interview, Wilde revealed that she was overjoyed to learned that Styles would be joining her movie.

She said,

“I did a little victory dance when we heard that we officially had Harry in the film, because we knew that he has a real appreciation for fashion and style. And this movie is incredibly stylistic. It’s very heightened and opulent, and I’m really grateful that he is so enthusiastic about that element of the process—some actors just don’t care.”

“Don’t Worry Darling” is in post-production status, but it does not yet have a release date. We’ll update this as soon as the release date will be announced.
